Power Pack Project seeks volunteers and participants

Power Packs

Power Pack Project (PPP) is designed to improve the mental and physical health of children in the program by building resources for parents with nutritious meals over the weekends when the school breakfast and lunch programs are unavailable. The PPP recognizes the vital role that nutrition plays in the ability of children to learn in school. Every Thursday afternoon, participating families receive a recipe and the ingredients to make a meal. In this program, participants receive food to make the recipe as well as cereal, peanut butter, soup, etc. We also provide education on how to prepare low-cost healthy meals, nutrition and food safety as well as shopping strategies to assure that children are well-fed and ready to learn

We are currently seeking Families with children who are participating in the free or reduced lunch program in school The programs runs from October–June and is ongoing. Please contact Collette@elancocross.org or call 717-355-2454 for more information.

PPP is also seeking volunteers to pack bags on Thursday afternoons at CrossNet Ministries or drive the van.
